Flag Hill would like to welcome our new distiller, Brian Ferguson!!

A new face will be seen manning the pumps and pipes of the Christian Carl still at Flag Hill this week. Newly hired, Brian Ferguson, will step into the role of Distiller at Flag Hill Distillery on April 15, 2013.

Brian’s previous roles as Head Distiller at Cayman Spirits Co. in Grand Cayman and Assistant Distiller at Finger Lake Distilling in NY made him an excellent choice for Flag Hill Distillery as they ahead to the production of rum and whiskey. With expertise from his previous endeavors in the specialty equipment and craftsmanship required for these upcoming products it was a perfect fit. Originally hailing from Pennsylvania, Brian and his fiancé moved to Grand Cayman and enjoyed life on the island while Brian furthered his career in the distillery industry. They both look forward to moving back to the USA and exploring the state of New Hampshire.

Graham Hamblett, who has been juggling both roles at Flag Hill as distiller and winemaker, will retain his role as Flag Hill’s winemaker through the 2013 harvest. Graham, who has been with the company for nearly 15 years, has been the man at the helm of Flag Hill’s line of products for the past decade. His personal life will take him to new and exciting places this coming fall/winter and with an immense amount of great respect, Flag Hill will be sorry to see him go.

Change has certainly been the name of the game for Flag Hill since its inception in 1990; from a fledgling vineyard on the seacoast of NH, it has continued to change and grow into what now includes NH’s largest vineyard, an award-winning winery, the first NH distillery and a distinguished wedding and event facility. The most recent change has been to the corporate structure of the company. What was once an all encompassing corporation known as Flag Hill Enterprises is now 3 separate LLCs: Flag Hill Winery & Vineyard, Flag Hill Distillery and Flag Hill Catering & Events.

Maintaining his role as owner and being fully integrated in the operations of the businesses, Frank Reinhold recently promoted current employees Heather Houle and Christine Falbe-Harkness as general managers of each of the companies.

Christine Falbe-Harkness recently took on her new role as General Manager of Flag Hill Catering & Events, LLC. She first came to Flag Hill in 2011as Director of Events, bringing more than a decade of relevant industry involvement while serving as operations manager for Galley Hatch Catering LLC. Based on her previous years of experience with corporate and high-end clientele, Christine looks to build upon the success of on-site events and expand Flag Hill Catering & Events to include off-site catering and bar services featuring craft wines and spirits made at Flag Hill Winery & Distillery.

Heather Houle joined Flag Hill in 2004, originally working primarily with the weddings, events, assisting in the tasting room and managing all marketing and IT aspects of Flag Hill. As she steps into her new role of General Manager for Flag Hill Winery & Vineyard, LLC and Flag Hill Distillery, LLC she looks to grow both companies through new endeavors; re-inventing Flag Hill while maintaining its core philosophies.
