What You Need to Know:
  • All harvesters need to bring their own pruning shears. Those without will be turned away. Scissors of any type are not acceptable tools.
  • Weather is obviously a big factor but please be advised that once committed to the harvest it becomes very difficult to change dates. Accordingly, only the most unpleasant of weather days will interfere with picking as planned. The washout dates for each Saturday are the very next day - Sunday. Your support in attendance if the weather is less than perfect is appreciated. If the weather is questionable, status updates will be on the web site and/or you may call the winery on the morning of harvest if you are unsure.
  • We strongly suggest a good hearty breakfast before coming and bringing snack bars or similiar items with you. There are no snacks available or for purchase prior to the start of lunch.
  • Your most comfortable/casual working attire is welcome. Clothes should be weather appropriate for the day. Dressing in layers is always smart and/or if there is the possibility of light rain or drizzle during picking, you may want to consider an extra set of comfortbale clothes to change into after harvesting is done.
  • Cost per person to attend Harvest Fest 2011 on Oct. 8 is $7.00. As much as possible we would appreciate the primary contact of each group to make one payment on behalf of your entire group. Payments can be made via check or cash and sent to our business address or delivered in person during our open hours of operation (Wed-Sun, 11am-5pm). Checks should be made payable to Flag Hill Enterprises. Please include the Harvest Date you are attending on the memo line. If we do not receive your payment by 5:00 PM on Saturday, Sep. 24th, you will receive an email indicating that your spaces will be offered to others on the waiting list. The registration payments will not be accepted on the day of Harvest this year. Payment due date is as follows: Saturday, Sep. 24th by 5pm - we will not accept credit or any type of charge card payment over the phone if you are running late with payment. Cash or Check are the 2 acceptable forms of payment.
  • Harvest Fest 2011 T-Shirts can be pre-purchased at $7.00 each and the payment can be included with the Harvest Fest registration cost you are sending in. For each T-Shirt you are purchasing, please include the desired size (adult sizes, S-M-L-XL-XXL or toddler). T-Shirts may be purchased on the day of Harvest Fest for $7.00 each, but sizes will be first come first serve. We will do our best to have a good variety of sizes, but there are no guarantees on availability of specific sizes.
  • Cancellations: We have many people whom we were not able to invite to Harvest Fest 2011 due to space limitations. It would be greatly appreciated if you would either call (603-659-2949, ask for Heather or Christine) or email harvest@flaghill.com if you or any of your party is not able to make it so that we can invite those from the waiting list. Refunds are not given for those who do not show up on the day of Harvest without having made a cancellation by payment deadline for each harvest date. Glasses are not given to those who are not in attendance, however if a T-Shirt was pre-purchased you can call Flag Hill within 1 week of the last Harvest date to make arrangements for pick up or to pay to have it shipped.
  • Water will be provided in the field during picking and you are welcome to bring drinking containers to use if you would like (no outside alocholic beverages may be brought ono site, it is against the law). Iced tea and water are included for drinking with dinner. Should you choose, other beverages will be available during dinner for purchase. Snacks are not provided before dinner, but you may bring along (and are suggested) if it will help keep your energy up until dinner time.
  • Flag Hill is a non-smoking facility. Smoking will not be permitted anywhere on site at Harvest Fest.

HELPFUL HINTS
  • Water will be available in the field during the picking, however there are no snacks provided. If you believe you or anyone in your party will work better with a snack before lunch, feel free to bring your own to tide you over until lunch.
  • If you need caffeine or coffee to get your day going, be sure to bring your own or make the Dunkin Donuts stop, coffee is not provided.
  • The grass is often wet in the morning, an extra pair of shoes or at least socks in the car could make the rest of your day much more comfortable.
  • Dressing in typical fall New England fashion is best - dress in layers and dress comfortably.
